Is the HPV Vaccine Free for BC Residents? Find Out Who Can Get It at No Cost!

The GARDASIL®9 HPV vaccine is provided for free to the following BC residents:

• Routine Program: All students in grades 6 to 12, with a standard program in Grade 6 and catch-up vaccinations available for older students

• HIV-positive Individuals: Ages 9-26 who have not completed the HPV vaccine series

• Cisgender Males: Ages 19-26 who are men who have sex with men, street involved, or questioning their sexual orientation

• Two-Spirit, Transgender, and Non-Binary Individuals: Ages 19-26

Not Covered for Free in BC (but recommended):

• Women aged 19-45

• Males aged 19-26 not included in the indicated groups

• Males aged 27 and older who are men who have sex with men

Dosing and Schedule:

• Immunocompetent Individuals (Ages 9-14): 2 doses, given at least 6 months apart

• Immunocompromised Individuals (Ages 9-14): 3 doses, administered at 0, 2, and 6 months

• Individuals 15 Years and Older: 3 doses, administered at 0, 2, and 6 months
